You will serve as a Nuclear Mechanical and Structural Systems Inspector (SHIPS) Leader in the Nuclear Inspection Division of the Quality Assurance Office of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Detachment San Diego, CA.Requirements:

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE , such as:
- Performing mechanical, piping, and structural inspections on nuclear reactor plant, refueling, and overhaul work.
- Applying full journeyman level or higher experience in pipefitting, valve repair, welding, machining and/or other closely related trades, to ensure components and systems meet all operational requirements.
- Using special measuring and inspection devices, such as precision micrometers, precision gauge blocks, Heise gauges, durometer testers, thread gauges, borescopes, and vernier calipers, as well as special testing devices, such as hydrostatic pumps, flow indicators, and differential pressure indicators.
- Maintaining records of inspections and corrective action taken, in accordance with local directives.
- Interpreting diagrams, specifications, drawings, and interrelated procedure and technical requirements to most critical job applications.
