Description:

You will serve as a Supervisory Physical Science Technician in the Radiological Monitoring Branch, Radiological Control Office of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Requirements:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience providing technical guidance pertaining to laboratory principles, methods, and techniques through reviewing and analyzing radiological work assignments and documents.
  • Experience applying quantitative measurement and health physics techniques to conduct a comprehensive assessment of potential problems in such areas as radioactive spills, waste disposal, effluent monitoring and storage/handling of radioactive materials and equipment.
  • Experience overseeing and advising personnel functions regarding performance, training, development, and behavior.
  • Experience developing recommendations for improved methods, procedures, equipment, etc., to prevent recurrence or to improve radiological control operations.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, participating, and reviewing radiological response(s) as needed.
