This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a MASONRY WORKER without more than normal supervision performing common tasks including: 1) Repairing, rebuilding and constructing brick, block and stone structures and surfaces such as partitions, walls, walkways and fireplaces; 2) Repairing, altering and constructing cement and concrete surfaces and structures such as foundations, steps, floors and walks; 3) Mixing mortar to the desired consistency by using the proper proportions of sand, lime cement and water; 4) Using a trowel in spreading mortar and finishing joints; and 5) Using tools such as gauge lines, spirit levels and plumb bobs to obtain straight courses.Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/x-118c/tabindx.asp
